(Boucherville) A motorcyclist died Monday morning in Boucherville, Montérégie, when he left the road.
Emergency services were alerted at around 6:10 a.m. that a motorcyclist had had an accident on Chemin de Bretagne, near Boulevard de Montarville.
“A man was found at the scene, dead, near the motorcycle,” said officer François Boucher, who is spokesperson for the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Department.
As of Monday morning, the Longueuil police force was unable to determine the cause of the road accident. An investigation has been opened to shed light on this event, said Officer Boucher.
A security perimeter was set up around the scene of the accident, so that the intersection of Chemin de Bretagne and Boulevard de Montarville had to be closed to traffic.
This closure will be for an indefinite period. The population is therefore asked to avoid the area.
