Every week, The Press Look through the TV offering to find four titles to watch

The novelty

Quiz night

This new feature will undoubtedly tickle our hearts as former subscribers to the quiz nights at Vestiaire, a Montreal bar located on Saint-Hubert Street. Hosted by Tammy Verge and Antoine Vézina, it pits eight teams from all over Quebec against each other, accustomed to events of this type. And their names are magical: Quiz lorraines, Groupe Hêteux (say it out loud, you’ll understand…), École de réhabilitation St-Jean-de-Bosco, etc. At the launch of Télé-Québec’s programming, Antoine Vézina provided some delightful information: unlike many TV quizzes that offer far too much blah blah and too few questions, this offering from Picbois Productions (Decolonizing History, They) should delight those who like to test their general knowledge. Our expectations are high.

Télé-Québec, starting Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.

The Accident

Member of the top 10 on Netflix for the past week, this Mexican series caught our attention when its trailer started playing while we were looking for something to watch. The premise is ludicrous. The development of the story is even more so. During a children’s party, a poorly anchored inflatable game floats away in the wind with several kids on board, while the parents watch in horror as their offspring rise above the trees… then crash to the ground. Result: three dead and… one missing. This melodrama with the feel of an afternoon soap opera pumped up on steroids is the perfect example of a series you could watch in its entirety just to criticize it.

Netflix (available in French version)

The special

MusicPlus as an encore

PHOTO PROVIDED BY BELL MEDIA

Chéli Sauvé-Castonguay and Chloée Deblois in MusicPlus as an encore

Because we were tuned into MusiquePlus 24/7 throughout high school (we’re barely exaggerating), this 60-minute special piques our curiosity, especially since we know that at the helm, Chloée Deblois will be supported by Chéli Sauvé-Castonguay, a former VJ we’d lost touch with in recent years. Produced by Zone 3 (Selling or renovating in Quebec, Infoman) in collaboration with Bell Media, this show recorded in front of a live audience brings together the hip-hop group Muzion, Aswell, Soran, Marilyne Léonard, Naomi and L’Isle. The broadcaster promises a few special appearances and a few nods to old segments of the channel.

Noovo, Noovo.ca and Crave, Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Like last year, Julie Bélanger and Jean-Michel Anctil will host this special show during which the network’s fall headliners will parade. On the Radio-Canada side, the talk show Good evening Good evening by Jean-Philippe Wauthier will once again serve as a launch pad for series and other productions that will air in the coming weeks. Live Thursday at 9 p.m. (For those curious, there are no program launch shows on Télé-Québec and Noovo.)
