(Tempe) Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones has been suspended five games for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, the league announced Friday.
In 2023, Jones was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge in Florida.
According to police, he had an argument with the mother of his child and left her with scratches on her neck.
The charge was dropped in March.
The 29-year-old will be eligible to return to play on Oct. 13 at Green Bay.
The Cardinals signed him to a one-year deal in May.
He had his best season in 2022 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, collecting 823 receiving yards, including five touchdowns.
Jones was a second-round pick in 2017 by the Buffalo Bills after playing for East Carolina in the NCAA.
