“Having our Vienna concerts cancelled was devastating.” On her Instagram account, the American singer confided in her followers on Wednesday, August 21, reacting for the first time to the cancellation of three of her concerts in Vienna in early August. The Austrian police had identified Islamist attack plans, which were foiled, with the arrest of three suspects, one of whom, aged 19, had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group.

“The reason for these cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear and enormous guilt because so many people had planned to come to these concerts.”she wrote in her post. The singer said “very grateful to the authorities because thanks to them we mourned concerts and not lives”.

Highly sought after by the media after these cancellations, Taylor Swift had, until now, kept silent and put her social networks on hold. An absence that she also explained in this post: the singer preferred to wait until the end of her European tour. “I will not speak publicly about something if I think it might provoke those who would harm the fans who come to my concerts” she explained. After these five concerts in the lair of Wembley Stadium, the world star is preparing to fly to the very last concerts of “The Eras” in Canada.
