This romantic and syrupy turn of OD, a transitional stage, did not charm the public. In the grand finale, viewers shunned the golden couple – and the most cheesy of the season – formed by Lara and Vincent, aka the two pots of glue, and preferred the clown Simon and his aloe Mia, who have just moved into their new condo in Mirabel.
The next wave of OD, which will hit Mexico, will bring back the bickering, the surprising twists and a crop of singles ready to play more with their language. Producer Julie Snyder calls it “the most twisted red carpet in the history of OD.” Nine guys will parade in front of nine girls on Sunday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m., on Noovo.

And yes, things are going to be lively in the two villas built on the seafront, on the east coast of Mexico. “We have to live with crises. OD without crises, it would be Green week“If we don’t want crises, we have to stop doing reality TV,” Julie Snyder insists in an interview.

The boys’ portraits, unveiled Monday morning, show mischievous, almost annoying competitors. Étienne, a 24-year-old waiter from Quebec City, is 6’3″ and likes “snack-sized” women under 5’6″. A model and roofer from Mandeville, the dapper Jimmy, 21, is nicknamed Hollywood Guidoune by his friends. “I like being a model because I like being, let’s say, in photos. Putting on new coats, new sweaters, I’m really comfortable with that,” philosophizes our good Jimmy, who appreciates the simple pleasures of life like watching planes parked on a runway.

At 6’8″, entrepreneur Aleksa, 27, from Sherbrooke, is the tallest, I believe, of the 18 chapters in the romantic story ofDouble occupancy. Software developer Félix, 29, from Saguenay, has big nostrils (his biggest complex), but great abs, and he hates people who don’t pick up their “toast seeds.”
The mustachioed Carl, 29, works as a paramedic in New Carlisle, in Gaspésie. He is the clown of the outpatient service. Bilal, 29, from Montreal, as well as Michaël, 27, from Lévis, work as real estate brokers. Will they be able to play their (pan)cards well?
There is only one influencer in the group: Raphaël, 26, from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, who specializes in creating tourism content. Raphaël, who looks like Jay Du Temple, from the OD Bali era, describes himself as a “teddy bear with a player look.” Oh yes, his passion for travel comes from the all-inclusive hotels he frequented in his youth.
Finally, Mamadou, 23, from Montreal, works as a bartender. OD always needs one, even if he only uncorks cans of Truly.
Among the girls, the young mother of two children, Catherine F., 27, from Blainville, promises to “french all the boys” available. She clearly stands out from the crowd. She is nicknamed Catherine-the-Catastrophe.

Anna, a 23-year-old nutrition student from Thetford Mines, describes herself as a “fierce doe” who loves cooking Mexican food, enchiladas, anytime, it goes with her jalapeno tattoo on her arm!
Catherine L., 24, a regional development officer from Alma, is unable to cut her own toenails. Gentlemen, a homemade pedicure will surely soften the heart – and the callus – of blonde Catherine L.
After the family doctor Sami from OD Andalousie, it’s time for Fanny, the 25-year-old pharmacist from Montreal, looking for a magic pill to eradicate her celibacy. The redheaded seductress Kristina, a 23-year-old Montrealer, is crazy about nice guys who look like Greek gods, just that.
Maude, 24, from Val-d’Or, is also a model, she is not afraid to get dirty and has a weakness for… engines. Melek, 22, a makeup artist in Montreal, calls herself a horned angel, like in the song Girls night out by Marie-Chantal Toupin.
“Just crazy enough,” Shaina, 27, from Montreal, rounds out the quartet of real estate brokers at OD Mexico, at the end of open houses. The oldest member of the cohort at 31, Stephany, a cybersecurity specialist, grew up in Puerto Vallarta and proclaims herself the queen of twerking.
These 18 competitors, not counting those who will join the adventure as a surprise, will go on an overseas expedition, have fun in festive 5 to 7s and spin the bottle, as in previous editions.
On the other hand, there is no question of bringing back useless idiots like the board of directors, whose role no one has understood. The winning couple of OD Mexico will inherit a $450,000 chalet in the Domaine Pine Hill in Brownsburg-Chatham, in the Laurentians.
In the hosting roles, Alicia Moffet and Frédérick Robichaud reprise their roles for a second go-around. After a very average first year, the loving duo still has some scabs to eat and some Casal Domingo to whistle to support the performances of Jay Du Temple who, beyond his flamboyant outfits and extravagant haircuts, knew how to put the show in his perfectly manicured hand.
