Two people suspected of having tried to help a 91-year-old woman end her life in Grenoble have been taken into custody, franceinfo learned on Thursday, August 15, from a source close to the case and from the Grenoble prosecutor.
The two individuals are 81 years old and are members of the association “Ultime Liberté”, in favor of the legalization of assisted suicide. They are suspected of having provided the nonagenarian late Wednesday with products to help her end her life that she could not tolerate and that she ended up vomiting. It was her son who alerted the police.
The Grenoble public prosecutor’s office indicates that at this stage an investigation has been opened for “illegal practice of the profession of pharmacist” and “propaganda in favour of products recommended as means of assisting suicide”.
