Weekend Plans | Things to Do Before Back to School

Circus, beers, comics… The start of the school year is approaching, but there are still several beautiful days to enjoy the summer. Here are our journalists’ suggestions.

Circus cabaret in Tremblant

The Casino de Mont-Tremblant opens its doors to the circus arts with the presentation of the Cabaret Éclats Tremblant show under the big top. The multidisciplinary show, directed by Isabelle Chassé, from the Les 7 doigts collective, is inspired by the world of funfairs. On the program: aerial straps, juggling, hand-to-hand, clown acts and singing, among others. Note: this Cabaret Éclats is a revisited revival of the show presented last year in Charlevoix. “A punchy cabaret show featuring nine very high-calibre artists,” wrote colleague Jean Siag last summer.

Until September 2 at the Mont-Tremblant Casino

The Quebec Beer Festival is held from August 15 to 18.

The Quebec Beer Festival is back for its 13the edition with around a hundred exhibitors from the brewing world, but also two new areas with distinct atmospheres: the Saloon should please country music fans with its dance classes, a western skills tournament and performances by the Chris Buck Band, a Canadian group that is making a name for itself in the United States; on the Cour arrière side, people go there to enjoy their drink with their feet in the water of specially designed pools, to the rhythm of singers or DJs – the En Cavale Live Sessions project, an initiative of Millimetrik (Pascal Asselin) and Miss Croque (Noémie Rocque), will be on the decks from Thursday to Saturday evening.
