A cyclist was struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of René-Lévesque Boulevard and Peel Street in Montreal. The 70-year-old man was injured and taken to hospital.
At approximately 4 p.m., emergency services received a call regarding a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist. Once on scene, officers were able to locate a cyclist on the ground who was conscious.
According to initial reports, the vehicle was traveling west on René-Lévesque Boulevard while the cyclist was traveling north on Peel Street at the time of the accident.
The 56-year-old driver of the vehicle was not injured.
A perimeter was erected to protect the scene and witnesses were met by investigators.
René-Lévesque Boulevard is currently closed in the westbound direction between Robert-Bourassa Boulevard and Stanley Street. Peel Street is also closed in the northbound direction from Saint-Antoine Street.
