(Paris) Travis Scott, one of the biggest stars of American rap, was arrested at dawn on Friday for violence, the Paris prosecutor’s office said, confirming information from Current Values.
Early in the morning, “the police were called to the Georges V hotel and arrested the man nicknamed Travis Scott for violence against a security guard. The latter had himself intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard,” the public prosecutor said.
“The 1er “The judicial police district has been seized of the investigation,” the Paris prosecutor’s office also indicated.
It was not immediately confirmed whether the 33-year-old singer was currently being held in police custody.
Travis Scott posted a video on Instagram on Thursday evening showing himself at Bercy, where the basketball events of the Paris Olympic Games are being held.
On the same account with 57 million subscribers, he then posted images of his presence at a nightclub party.
The rapper became known with his first album, Rodeoin 2015. Since then, the Houston native has become a figure in American rap and has released four other albums, including the successful Astroworld (2018).
Real name Jacques Bermon Webster II, Travis Scott has a boy and a girl with his ex-partner, American influencer Kylie Jenner.
He has already had some legal troubles across the Atlantic. In June, he was arrested in the United States, in Miami Beach, for disturbing the peace while he was drunk.
