A suicide bombing was foiled in Vienna at the Ernst-Happel Stadium where a Taylor Swift concert was to take place. The two suspects were arrested, but the star’s other concerts have been cancelled.

The Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna has become deserted. This is where the American star Taylor Swift was supposed to perform, where a terrorist attack was foiled. The suspect, Beran A., has confessed. The 19-year-old Islamist from North Macedonia was arrested in Lower Austria, just an hour from Vienna. “He intended to commit an attack using explosives and bladed weapons,” says Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, the director of intelligence services.

The perpetrator became radicalized online, as did another man he colluded with. Luca K. was arrested near the stadium. Of Turkish-Croatian origin, he had managed to get a job with a company that was supposed to provide services at the stadium during the concert. No fewer than 170,000 fans were expected to attend. For security reasons, all of the star’s concerts have been canceled and fans are being reimbursed.
