Tim Hortons | Parent company reports higher profit, revenue

(Toronto) Restaurant Brands International said Thursday that its profit and revenue increased in the second quarter compared with the same period last year.


The parent company of Tim Hortons and other restaurants said its net income was $399 million, or 88 cents per share, in its latest quarter.

That was up from net income of $351 million, or 77 cents per share, reported a year earlier.

Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 totaled US$2.08 billion, compared with US$1.78 billion in the same quarter last year.

Consolidated comparable sales, for their part, increased by 1.9%.

On an adjusted basis, the company said it earned 86 cents per share in its latest quarter, up slightly from adjusted earnings of 85 cents per share a year ago.

In addition to Tim Hortons, Restaurant Brands owns Burger King, Popeyes and Fire House Subs.
