WestJet says 16 of its planes have been grounded after a massive hailstorm hit Calgary earlier this week.
The Calgary-based airline says those planes — 10 per cent of its fleet — require substantial repairs and inspections before they can fly again.
The carrier also said 84 of its flights were cancelled on Wednesday, after 106 on Tuesday and 58 on Monday.
Calgary International Airport was hit by hail Monday night, forcing parts of its domestic terminal to close for repairs indefinitely.
A video taken by a traveler shows water dripping from the ceiling near a departure gate, with pieces of what appear to be ceiling tiles crashing to the floor.
An Air Canada spokeswoman said its operations in Calgary have returned to normal and the company has been able to use its larger planes to transport stranded passengers.
