(Laval) Two minors were arrested by Laval police in connection with the pepper spray attack that occurred last January in a McDonald’s restaurant, during which dozens of people, including children, were inconvenienced.
The Laval Police Department (SPL) confirmed Wednesday that it was after several months of investigation that two minors were arrested last week in this case. They were charged with armed assault, mischief under $5,000, and carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The incident in question occurred late in the afternoon on January 24, when four individuals entered a McDonald’s restaurant located on Boulevard Saint-Martin Ouest and allegedly attacked a man inside with pepper spray.
“During this event, several dozen people, including children, were inconvenienced and had to be decontaminated by Urgences-Santé paramedics,” the SPL recalled in its report of the event, adding that the suspects had fled on foot before the arrival of the police.
The two suspects who were arrested last week appeared for the first time at the Laval courthouse and were released with certain conditions to be respected.
Their cases will return to the Court of Quebec on September 16.
