The FFF has made official the departure of Hervé Renard, after a year and a half at the head of the French women’s team

Arriving in March 2023 with the World Cup and the Olympic Games as his objectives, Hervé Renard officially leaves his position this Tuesday, after the end of his contract.

An elimination and then he leaves. The French Football Federation made official, on Tuesday, August 6, the departure of Hervé Renard from his position as coach of the French team. Appointed in March 2023 after the retirement of several French executives and the ousting of Corinne Diacre, the former LOSC coach committed to leading Les Bleues until the end of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which ended in elimination against Brazil on Saturday in the quarter-finals.

Good luck for the rest of your career”wrote briefly the X account (ex-Twitter) of the French women’s team, adding its record of 26 matches, 17 wins, 3 draws, 6 losses. Hervé Renard had never hidden the fact that he did not wish to continue his mission beyond the Olympic Games and admitted in April to having in “a corner of [s]”Heads the 2026 World Cup in men’s football”.
