(Seoul) Pyongyang announced Monday that it had transferred 250 new-generation missile launchers to its troops stationed on the inter-Korean border, where Seoul resumed its anti-Kim Jong-un propaganda through loudspeakers.
“A ceremony for the transfer of 250 new-generation tactical missile launchers […] “to the border military troops” was held the day before in Pyongyang under the leadership of leader Kim Jong-un, state agency KCNA reported.
The devices are “updated tactical attack weapons,” the North Korean leader said, adding that he “personally designed” them.
Pyongyang is strengthening its military capabilities on the border as Seoul has resumed its sound propaganda campaigns against the North Korean regime.
North-South relations are currently going through one of the most tense periods in years. The two neighbours are still technically at war, having fought an armistice between 1950 and 1953, rather than a peace treaty.
North and South Korea have been sending volleys of balloons to each other for months, carrying trash for the North and anti-Kim propaganda mainly for the South.
