It’s with Theyher album released in January, that Youn Sun Nah is carrying out this 2024 summer tour. A project that allows her to once again abolish musical boundaries. Trained in jazz, the singer covers songs made famous by female artists she admires, whether they come from jazz, song, or rock: “I’m influenced by all styles, and I’m always inspired by these voices that are so emotional. There are singers that I chose, like Björk, who is the queen of self-reinvention ! I am quite sensitive to sound, color, tone of voice.”

During her summer tour, Youn Sun Nah performs as a piano-voice duo or as a trio with two pianos. “It’s very complementary. For example, on Asturias, which is a piece that requires a lot of technique, with the two pianists I feel like I have 50 musicians behind me ! It’s a project I’ve been thinking about for a long time, but I haven’t had the opportunity to do it.”

Among the festivals where Youn Sun Nah is singing this summer, there is Jazz In Marciac. We will see her again under the big top on August 1st, 23 years after her first concert in Marciac in 2001. “It was my first jazz festival in France. I was invited to sing in the ‘off’, it was a free concert, and it was incredible. I must have sold several hundred CDs! I was so moved to be invited, and I said to myself ‘If one day I could play under the big top’…
