Toronto Festival | Nutcrackers with Ben Stiller as opener

David Gordon Green’s new comedy-drama starring Ben Stiller will kick off the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).


TIFF organizers have announced that Nutcrackers will be the opening film on September 5th.

The feature follows Stiller as a career-driven man who unexpectedly finds himself responsible for his mischievous orphaned nephews.

Furthermore, Rebel Wilson’s directorial debut, The Debwill close the festival on September 15.

The musical follows two teenage cousins ​​in a small Australian country town who embark on a quest for self-discovery as they search for a companion to their debutante ball.

Other films previously announced for the festival include the dark comedy starring Amy Adams, Nightbitch and the rock documentary Elton John: Never Too Late.

Ground Balla film produced by athlete LeBron James that tells the story of a basketball team on a native reserve, will also be screened at the event.
