After its setback in the legislative elections, the presidential camp is also undergoing a reshuffle. Sacha Houlié, deputy of Vienne and member of the presidential party since 2017, “will not sit” to the Renaissance group, he said on Wednesday July 10, explaining “to work” to the constitution of another group ranging from “the social right to the socialist left”.

“Obviously, we are trying to create a group that goes from the social right to the socialist left so that France is governable. All good wills are welcome. I will not sit on the Renaissance group.”assured AFP the former president of the Law Commission, a historic figure of the left wing of Macron’s party and a former socialist activist.

The MP explains his motivations in the magazine Society published Wednesday. “I was a left-wing social democrat in 2007, in 2012, in 2017, in 2022, and I still am in 2024. That’s why I joined Macron and did everything I could to make sure he won. But I have the impression that he, his entourage, his government, everyone has shifted to the right and that I’m the only one who has remained motionless.”
