A spectacular accident between a bus and a tram occurred on Tuesday, July 9, at midday, in Paris at the Porte de Choisy, reports France Bleu Paris. Despite the violent impact between the two vehicles, only a dozen people were slightly injured. This is the second accident involving a tram on the T9 line in a week.

The accident occurred at 1:50 p.m., a RATP spokesperson told France Bleu Paris. For reasons that are still unknown, a tram on line T9, operated by Keolis, and a bus on line 323 of the RATP collided.

In the photos and videos circulating on social networks, we can see the impact of the collision on the two vehicles. The tram derailed and the front of the train was completely crushed. The rear of the bus was also badly damaged and road signs were lying down.

RATP has opened an investigation in conjunction with Kéolis to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. The bus driver, “whose alcohol and drug tests are negative”according to the RATP, was taken care of by his management.

Already on Friday, line 9 was the scene of another accident, involving two trams at Orly, and causing eight minor injuries. Several left-wing elected officials are demanding accountability from the line operator Kéolis and Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM).
