Since the publication of Hull (2021), still his discographic peak, the Gatineau MC D-Track has not stopped running his pen over paper, putting together projects (the album Bear Territory2023) and collaborations, notably with another prolific actor on the scene, Montrealer Seinssucrer, who appears on the excerpt Gut, one of the best of L’Osstidtour. “When I was young, no one would have bet ten dollars on me / Today I make songs with rappers that I idolize,” he raps in the introduction with this prosody of his own, sometimes precariously balanced on the tempo, sometimes delivered as if he were reciting his text. On these boom bap rhythms, D-Track and his collaborators stand out: Koriass on The punishmentMike Shabb on Minutes and the Marseille veteran Akhenaton on Culture. The title hides one of the themes of the album, namely resilience in the face of the state of the world: The Osstidtour to condo will pass for a 2024 version of The main street des Colocs.Click here to discover an extract.
