An 80-year-old woman was hit by a carthis Friday morning, in Elne (Pyrénées-Orientales).
The accident took place in the city center, in front of the tobacco shop, around 8 o’clock. The victim was hit by a car.
The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old man, hit it backing up, as he pulled out of a parking lot.
When help arrived, the victim was “conscious, but in critical condition”explain the gendarmes.
The octogenarian was taken to hospital in Perpignan.
