A robbery took place in the 8th arrondissement of Paris on Sunday December 10. 600,000 euros worth of jewelry was stolen by armed men from a concept store.

The doors are now closed, the store inaccessible. Sunday December 10, a luxury goods store, located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, in a chic neighborhood, a stone’s throw from the Champs-Élysées, was the victim of a robbery.

Around 10:45 a.m., two men burst in, helmets on their heads. Armed with hammers and tear gas bombs, they threaten staff and spray them with gas. The criminals quickly seized around ten watches and jewelry before fleeing. Amount of their loot: 600,000 euros. A security guard was slightly injured by the gas.

An open investigation

In recent years, jewelry stores have become the preferred target of robbers. Main reason: easy loot to resell. This summer, another store was robbed in the middle of Paris. Of the ten million euros worth of watches and jewelry stolen, nothing was found despite the arrest and indictment of seven people. After this morning’s robbery, an investigation was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the banditry suppression brigade.
