A study published this Wednesday, June 12 by Santé Publique France reveals that the French are too sedentary, more than one in five adults say they spend more than 7 hours a day sitting in their chair.

Long days spent working while sitting behind a desk: in France, 41% of women and 27% of men do not do enough physical activity. However, among the good students, in Brittany or Occitanie, we find the means to prepare for summer gently. Urban developments are an ideal playground. “We have radiant sunshine, a little wind, the place is magnificent, we can breathe, that’s the most important thing”estimates a man doing sports outdoors. “As someone who has a sedentary job, it’s quite nice to be able to do that, whenever I want”rejoices another man.

Conversely, the champion of all categories of sedentary lifestyle is Île-de-France. The World Health Organization recommends getting at least 150 to 300 minutes of moderate activity per week. French people who are too sedentary, who, a few weeks before the Paris Games, are still far from being in Olympic form.
