The drought led the prefecture of Haute-Savoie to place several sectors in crisis situation 4/4. Four sectors are concerned. Already at the end of July, the Chéran sector between Savoie and Haute-Savoie had already entered a crisis zone, as well as all of the west of the Savoie department: the municipalities around Chambéry, around Aix les Bains, around the lake of Aiguebelette.

A crisis situation means that many prohibitions on the use of water come into force in all the municipalities around Annecy in particular, around Frangy, Thonon, Evian and as far as La Clusaz or Le Grand Bornand. We no longer water our vegetable garden, our lawn, its flowers unless you have a personal rainwater reserve, you no longer fill your pool. Local authorities are also concerned, they have theit is also forbidden to water the stadiums for example.
Farmers are not immune to its constraints of watering or water use restrictions.
The prefecture specifies that only one municipality Cruseille must, in part, be supplied with drinking water by tank trucks.
