The drought led the prefecture of Haute-Savoie to place several sectors in crisis situation 4/4. Four sectors are concerned. Already at the end of July, the Chéran sector between Savoie and Haute-Savoie had already entered a crisis zone, as well as all of the west of the Savoie department: the municipalities around Chambéry, around Aix les Bains, around the lake of Aiguebelette.
The Dranses, Fier, South West Lake Geneva and Usses sectors are in crisis
A crisis situation means that many prohibitions on the use of water come into force in all the municipalities around Annecy in particular, around Frangy, Thonon, Evian and as far as La Clusaz or Le Grand Bornand. The prefecture specifies that only one municipality Cruseille must, in part, be supplied with drinking water by tank trucks.
