35,000 supporters without tickets at the Stade de France according to the FFF

It’s here numbers war. The French Football Federation (FFF) said on Tuesday evening that 35,000 supporters went to the vicinity of the Stade de France on Saturday with fake tickets or without entry tickets, on the occasion of the Champions League final, causing incidents.

While the figures put forward by the Ministry of the Interior are called into question, the FFT assures in a press release that “75,000 tickets were issued, therefore 75,000 people should have gone to the Stade de France”. However, the FFF found that 110,000 people showed up at the Stade de France, “on the basis of information collected from the various public and private operators”.

According to the governing body of French football, “79,200 people took public transport, 21,000 (came) by bus (supporters, partners and UEFA guests), 6,000 in taxis and private drivers and 4,100 with their private vehicles”.

The body chaired by Noël Le Graët therefore seems to support the government’s thesis. At a press conference on Monday, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said that 30,000 to 40,000 English supporters had no tickets or a counterfeit ticket.

The FFF also explains that 1,650 security and reception officers have been mobilized “in anticipation of a possible presence of people without tickets or in possession of counterfeit tickets”. The French Football Federation specifies that “this device is 25% higher than that of a sold-out French team match” and that he “has been validated by the police headquarters”.
