32nd homicide of the year in Montreal | The victim was allegedly stabbed

Authorities believe that young Reuban Ntake may have been attacked by individuals linked to street gangs. The 23-year-old victim appeared alongside a Pierrefonds gang member well known to the police in a video clip.

The 23-year-old young man may have been stabbed Wednesday evening in an apartment in Lachine, according to our sources.

The motive for the attack is not yet clear, authorities say. It could be a homicide linked to street gangs, since the deceased had appeared in the video clip of a gang member linked to the Pierrefonds sector.

It is for this reason that the authorities are studying the hypothesis of a link with gangs. It could also be a conflict unrelated to the street.

Mr. Ntake had a criminal record, but little history as an adult. He was known to the police in drug matters. On the other hand, he was not considered a full-fledged gang member, despite his presence in the video where he meets people associated with gangs, according to our information.

The SPVM does not confirm the circumstances of the death for the moment, but speaks of “injuries to the upper body. »

“His body showed signs of violence and an autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death,” said agent Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the police force.

Mr. Ntake was found unconscious by police in a home on Avenue Duranceau in Lachine after a 911 call made around 5:30 p.m.

His death was pronounced on the spot.

Several people were encountered by the police and surveillance cameras will be viewed.

There are no arrests in this case at this time. It is the Major Crimes section which will try to shed light on this murder, on 32e to occur in the metropolis this year.
