A man in his thirties lost his life after being the victim of a serious work accident on the construction site of a school in Montreal.
The tragedy occurred a little before lunchtime, on the imposing construction site of a brand new secondary school which should open its doors at the start of the 2023 school year, on rue Lapierre, near Cégep André-Laurendeau .
For some unknown reason, the worker was pinned between a forklift and a metal frame.
When emergency services arrived, the victim was in cardiorespiratory arrest.
The employee was rushed to hospital, where his condition was deemed “critical” by the authorities. His death was confirmed a little later.
Another worker had to be treated for nervous shock.
Inspectors from the Commission for Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST) were dispatched to the scene to investigate this sad event.
