The Home Secretary blamed the Champions League final fiasco on England fans without tickets or with fake tickets. They were, according to him, between 30,000 and 40,000, when only 2,800 counterfeit notes were scanned. Journalist Grégory Naboulet, live from the Stade de France, Tuesday May 31, takes stock of the situation.

Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior, blamed the chaos around the Stade de France during the Champions League final on Saturday May 28 on the counterfeit tickets of nearly 40,000 English supporters. But a figure comes to question this assertion. “2,800 counterfeit tickets were scanned on Saturday evening according to UEFA and the French Football Federation, and all of this was largely predictable”reports journalist Grégory Naboulet, live from the Stade de France, Tuesday, May 31.

Two days before the match, the intelligence services had warned of the massive presence of English supporters without valid tickets. “Another element of this fiasco, a strike on the RER B, which may have accentuated certain dysfunctions”, adds the journalist. Several RATP unions have announced a new strike on Friday, June 3, when the France team will face Denmark at the Stade de France.
