2,290 COVID-positive people hospitalized in Quebec

For a third consecutive day on Friday, Quebec recorded a drop in hospitalizations.

In total, 2,290 Quebecers with COVID-19 are hospitalized (-36), including 81 in intensive care (-4). Sadly, 26 people have succumbed to the disease in the past 24 hours.

The situation also seems to be improving among healthcare workers, as 9,104 are absent for reasons related to COVID-19 (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.), a decrease of 273 compared to on the eve.

Among people with access to screening centers, there are 1,649 new infections. For Thursday, 325 positive rapid tests were declared on the government platform.

Across the Ottawa River, hospitalizations have spiked as 1,679 Ontarians with COVID-19 occupy a hospital bed, up 19 from Thursday. The number of people in intensive care has also increased (209, +7). Ontario records 19 deaths from COVID-19.

Eventually, 2,760 new infections in the province were detected using a PCR test.
