2022 FIFA Soccer World Cup: Canada to play preseason match against Bahrain in November

Canada’s National Men’s Soccer Team will face Bahrain on Friday November 11 as part of their preparations for the FIFA World Cup.

This international friendly match, which will be played in Manama, Bahrain, adds to Canada’s pre-season schedule, which also includes a match against Japan on Thursday, November 17 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

It will take place at the Al-Khalifa Stadium less than two weeks before Canada’s first match at the World Cup on November 23 against Belgium.

This will be Canada’s last international test before the full squad reunites for the official FIFA World Cup international window, which opens on November 14.

Before the opening of the official window, Canada will meet in Manama to begin its final preparations for the World Cup.

This initial group will include players who will be in their off-season, including those from MLS whose playoff schedule will end with the presentation of the grand final on Saturday, November 5.

“Bahrain has graciously agreed to host us, which provides an opportunity for the team to acclimatize to local conditions and rack up important minutes of international intensity play for many players ahead of the final roster selection. for the World Cup,” John Herdman, Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team Head Coach, said in a press release.
