Hospitalizations linked to COVID-19 resumed on the rise on Tuesday, as did deaths.
According to the latest government report, 18 new people have died from the disease, including three in the last 24 hours.
Eleven deaths occurred two to seven days ago and four more than seven days ago.
Since the start of the pandemic, the disease has claimed 17,290 lives.
In addition, 1,698 people with COVID-19 were hospitalized, including 545 who were being treated specifically for the disease. This is an increase of 56 from the previous day.
In intensive care, there is an increase of one hospitalization, for a total of 42 patients. Among them, 19 are being treated due to COVID-19.
Nearly 3,300 healthcare professionals were absent from work related to the disease.
As for cases, there are officially 940 new infections, to which must be added at least 125 detected on Monday by rapid tests.
The positivity rate has also climbed to 10%, according to the Ministry of Health.
For vaccination, 15,502 doses of vaccine were administered on Monday. According to ministry figures, 29% of adult Quebecers have received at least one dose for less than five months.
