The World Cup in Qatar begins in ten months but fans around the world are already seeing it. Seventeen million tickets to attend matches in the competition have been requested, FIFA announced on Tuesday 8 February. With 1.8 million requests, it was the final, scheduled for December 18 at the Lusail stadium (with a capacity of 80,000 seats), which generated the most enthusiasm.
While Qatari residents are the source of most of these requests, they have still flowed in fromEngland, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, United States or even France. Proof, if necessary, that the interest in this particular event remains intact, despite the fact that it is disputed in winter and in a political context which continues to question.
“Following this first phase of sales, which began on January 19 and ended on February 8 at 1 p.m. Doha time, FIFA Ticketing will verify compliance with the ceilings per order and per household. before proceeding with the allocation of the tickets”, explained the international federation in a press release available on its website. The first phase of sale having now come to an end, supporters must wait until Tuesday, March 8 to find out the outcome of their request.
