A 15-year-old boy died in front of his father after being attacked by a long white shark while they were surfing near Ethel Beach, Australia, on Thursday.
Khai Cowley, a “talented surfer”, was enjoying the waves with his father, in the waters of the Innes National Park, during a stay in Australia, according to information from 7News. The journey quickly turned into a nightmare when a long white shark attacked his leg.
“I was walking down to the beach when I saw his father on a rock shouting at his son who was swimming towards him,” said local surfer Tim Philip. The 15-year-old boy was bitten on the leg by a 13-foot-long shark, he estimated.
The surfer made the decision to pick up Khai to bring him back to the beach. “I did what I could,” he said.
Although paramedics did everything possible to save the little boy, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
