On February 24, 2022, at dawn, Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine, with airstrikes across the country and entry of ground forces from the north, east and south. The magazine “1:15 p.m. on Saturday” (Twitter, #1:15 p.m.) went, for this report signed Patrice Brugère, Edouard Mounier, Jérôme Mars and Elise Leynier, to Constanta, in the east of Romania, at the edge of the Black Sea. He made the trip from Istres, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, with the French soldiers sent to this air base, one of NATO’s strategic points in the area.
A dissuasive presence in Romania
The Constanta base has been the scene of intense activity since the beginning of the week. The rotations of planes are linked, conveying French equipment and soldiers. Among them, Pierre-Louis or the young first class Adrien or Clément.
