A few days after the discovery of 15 pounds of cocaine in a truck, here is a new take made on the port of Cherbourg. Last Saturday, the customs brigade checked a truck from Belgium to Ireland.
In his trailer, the agents discover 32 cardboard pallets which contain cigarettes for a weight of about 5 tons and about 6 tons of rolling tobacco.
The value of the contraband goods is estimated at more than 5 million euros. The truck driver was arrested and handed over to the police.
Over the first six months of the year, Cherbourg customs seized more than 342 tons of contraband cigarettes.
