An 11-month-old baby was admitted to the emergency room at Perpignan hospital on Tuesday 23 November, where analyzes revealed that he had ingested cocaine, reports France Bleu Roussillon. The father will be tried Friday in immediate appearance.

The baby’s mother presented to the pediatric emergency room on Tuesday morning, worried about the condition of her infant. Doctors, suspecting poisoning, then carried out examinations which revealed the presence of traces of cocaine.

The police, alerted by the hospital, searched the family home where they discovered 750 grams of cannabis resin and 30 grams of cocaine. Both parents were taken into custody, before the mother was quickly exonerated.

The father, for his part, explained to investigators that he was storing the merchandise at his home on behalf of a third party. He does not exclude having accidentally dropped cocaine on the ground. The man, recently released from prison, will be presented Friday November 26 to the court of Perpignan to be tried in immediate appearance. The baby was taken from the parents and placed with a foster family on the instruction of the magistrate.
