A tragedy was probably avoided yesterday afternoon around 4 p.m. at the Orthez-Biron leisure center.
A 10-year-old boy nearly drowned in the lake but was able to get out of the water before help arrived. He was then transported in serious but conscious condition to Pau hospital.
His mother, who felt unwell, was also taken to hospital in Pau.
