On the occasion of his final collection as director of the School of Art Embroidery in Kemper, Pascal Jaouen summons age-old know-how, precious fabrics and dreamlike embroideries for an ode to glamor and elegance. For this last bow, the embroiderer-stylist from Quimper invites you to attend a unique and sumptuous parade at the Artimon, hall of the Parc des Expositions de Quimper Cornouaille.
150 outfits, including the most emblematic of his career and new embroidered creations on the theme of the Four Seasons, will gracefully evolve to a choreography by Mick Nédelec, carried by the music of Gwennyn and Patrice Marzin. The flamboyance of our ancestors, a perpetual source of inspiration for Pascal Jaouen, common thread running through his work, has not been lost on the path to modernity: witness the heritage of the creator, viscerally attached to his noble Lady, the Brittany.”

For more than 20 years, Pascal Jaouen has been living his passion for embroidery full time. His attachment to his region, his awareness, his luminous and colorful work make him a key figure in the history of contemporary Breton creation. Breton? Not only. The strength of his creations rooted in his piece of land is nonetheless influenced by the world. Pascal’s creativity knows no borders. It dialogues, invokes and brings together in a tangible way, a Brittany of exchanges, travels and sharing. Pascal has chosen to create, to evolve but also to transmit: no less than 2000 students flock each year to the courses of the School of Embroidery of Art, from Quimper to Lyon, via Paris, Nantes or Angers, attracted by its expertise and know-how. What would the art of Breton embroidery be today if Pascal Jaouen had not devoted his life to preserving it, reinventing it and passing it on?
For his last bow as Director of the School of Art Embroidery in Kemper, Pascal Jaouen and his team are preparing the celebration of 20 years of creations by presenting us with a final collection, during the big parade-show: Saturday 24 and on Sunday September 25, 2022 in Quimper A-galon, it is both a “Goodbye” and a “Thank you” that Pascal sends us from the heart. The School of Art Embroidery will remain in good hands: Yann Lagoutte, teacher at the School since 2004, current artistic director and Meilleur Ouvrier de France, takes up the torch.
