Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton experienced conflicts during Meghan’s tenure in the royal family, making it unlikely that the former actress wishes to revisit the U.K. anytime soon.
“What, is Meghan Markle expected to curtsy to Kate Middleton? I don’t think that’s happening. They’ve carved out their own lives in California,” royal biographer Andrew Morton stated in an interview with Sky News Australia.
Before the wedding of Meghan and Prince Harry, tensions arose over Princess Charlotte‘s bridesmaid dress, which had Meghan in tears following their disagreement.
Royal correspondent Jennie Bond previously noted that four years post-‘Megxit,’ Meghan and Kate are on divergent paths.
‘Everything Catherine does is aimed at helping others—those in need, the youth, and now individuals battling cancer,’ Bond expressed. ‘Her motives are genuine, not for fame, money, or self-promotion. It’s about making a positive impact.’
‘Meghan, too, leverages her fame to shine light on important issues and those requiring assistance,’ Bond added.
In the series Harry & Meghan, Meghan described the Waleses as emotionally distant.
“I’ve always been affectionate and didn’t realize how surprising that might be to many Brits,” Meghan recounted reflecting on her initial meeting with the couple. “I quickly recognized that the outward formality also represented their internal dynamics.”
“People present themselves in a certain way in public, and once you close the door, it’s like, ‘Oh, thank goodness, we can relax.’ But that formality seems to permeate every interaction,” Meghan acknowledged.

When the Sussexes initially departed the U.K., Meghan felt quite emotional regarding their choice to relocate to North America.
“I was telling him, ‘I tried so hard,’ and he responded, ‘I know you did, I know you did,’” Meghan revealed in the Netflix series. “‘I really put in the effort. That realization is what’s really upsetting, because even after all of that, it still wasn’t enough. You still feel like an outsider.’
As the Sussexes pursue opportunities in Hollywood, the Waleses are focusing on maintaining Kate’s peace during her recovery.
‘Kate is deeply committed to her healing process, and they’ve established clear boundaries to shield her from the stress and turmoil brought on by Harry and Meghan, which understandably affects her physical and mental well-being,’ a source disclosed.
‘Kate and William have instituted a self-imposed ban on anything related to Meghan and Harry, taking time to enjoy some well-deserved family bonding time,’ the insider added.
William mentioned Harry in a trailer for Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, but analysts did not interpret it as an attempt at reconciliation.
“He simply wanted to outline what transpired, and I doubt William is inclined to do that now because he is extremely protective of his wife,” biographer Angela Levin remarked.
“She’s not completely okay yet; she’s managing but remains cautious,” Levin observed. “William was incredibly upset with Harry, and the best way to address that is by maintaining distance.”
