Zone outing, season 4 | Episode 54: Questions to ask about casualty management

The 2022-2023 season of the Canadian will have been a disaster from one end to the other at the clinic. The Habs will “lead” the NHL for the second straight season in the games missed column due to injury. The most recent injury (Alex Belzile) is more bad luck, but there are still questions to be asked about the management of the injured. Antoine Roussel also draws on his experience as a former player to tell how players’ trust in doctors can crumble.

These numerous injuries add to the obstacles that await the CH for the last two weeks of the season. The team is visibly at the end of its resources, and Guillaume Lefrançois reminds us how difficult it will be to “manufacture” energy in the absence of certain emotional leaders. Elsewhere in the NHL, who are the coaches at risk of being unemployed at the end of the calendar? The names of Dallas Eakins and Craig Berube are mentioned.

Host: Jérémie Rainville
Guests: Richard Labbé, Guillaume Lefrançois and Antoine Roussel

I always heard the same thing from the supporters [du Canadien] who wrote to me: “at least the show is good, at least they are competitive”, even if they lost 4-3. What happened on Saturday was that they weren’t competitive. It’s 3-0 the score, but it should have been 8-0.

Richard Labbe

that he [Kristopher Letang] didn’t have an 80-point season like [John] Carlson or [Roman] Josi, to me, it doesn’t affect the fact that you go to the Hall of Fame. For me, he must be part of it, he marked his time.
