His visit comes tragically at the right time in the news with the death of Adam Johnson during a match in England, an accident which reignited the debate on the wearing of neck guards. “I’ve been talking about it for about fifteen years,” laments Gervais. The stubbornness of the players has a lot to do with it, as with any piece of equipment.

Gervais also recalls that he had warned Donald Audette to protect his wrists more, before he suffered a serious cut during his time with the Canadian. “Guys are beasts,” he says, to explain their reluctance to better protect themselves. To listen to at the last part of the show.

For the Canadian, Sean Monahan’s outfit as well as the benefits of the menage a trois in front of the net fuel the discussion between our guests, the day after an impressive performance by the CH in a shootout defeat in Vegas.

Since the start of the season, even playing against better teams than him, the Canadian is not downgraded, is competitive. Monday night, the Canadian played against a superior team in almost every way and still got a point.

Yesterday, what I loved were the 2e and 3e periods, two throws in 2efive in 3e, against supposedly the best team in the NHL. That impressed me.

If you want to build a culture, it takes guys like Sean Monahan. We talk about veterans, but that’s not what’s important, it’s important to have good veterans. The question is, do we want to keep him, and does he want to stay?

Stéphane Waite

As for me, the neck protector is much less restrictive than a visor. You have a neck protector, it’s your life. The chances of that happening are less in the NHL, there are plenty of doctors on site, the ambulance. But I saw so much close call. You come into the corner, both skates go… It’s a small piece of equipment that would make a big difference.
