For more than two months, war rages in Ukraine and each passing day brings suffering, drama and destruction. Millions of civilians are still fleeing their country to protect their lives and those of their families.
With its cultural and artistic expertise, Anjou Theater decided to respond to the destruction of war by creating a live art show. With the help of Alexander Koblykov and Charlotte de la Breteque, both circus artists, he succeeded in bringing together, around the circus arts, artists, cultural professionals, public authorities, partners, and the public. .
Aesthetic, unifying, intergenerational, the choice of circus arts allows, without language barriers, to speak out peacefullyartistic and poetic, the violence of this war, the attacks on freedom, sovereignty and dignity.
Under his marquee, zirka! brings together a dozen refugee artists from Ukraine, circus artists who have won many prestigious international awards. Intertwining aerobatics, acrobatics, contortion, balancing, juggling, the artists play with technical prowess to give substance to a staging imbued with poetry. A unique circus show that will amaze young and old, an invitation to rekindle the star of peace.
