Zelensky launches global crowdfunding campaign to help Ukraine

KYIV | Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday announced the launch of an online crowdfunding platform designed to help Kyiv win the war against Russia and rebuild the country’s infrastructure.

“With one click, you can donate funds to help our defenders, save our civilians and rebuild Ukraine,” he said in English in a video posted on Twitter announcing the launch of the United24 platform.

“All funds will be transferred to the National Bank of Ukraine and allocated to the relevant ministries,” added the Ukrainian president, specifying that reports on the distribution of funds will be published “every 24 hours”.

“Only together do we have the potential to stop the war and rebuild what Russia destroyed,” added Volodymyr Zelensky, who has used the internet and social media extensively since the start of the war. to mobilize and draw attention to his country.

Volodymyr Zelensky assured that Ukraine “will always remember” the contributions.

The platform, on the u24.gov.ua site, specifies that the funds will be distributed to respond to “defense and demining”, “medical aid” and to “rebuild Ukraine”.
