(Anaheim) Rookie Trevor Zegras had a goal and an assist on top of his shootout goal and led the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night.
Lukáš Dostál stopped 33 shots and made two saves in the shootout to win his first NHL game. Troy Terry scored his 22e net of the season for the Ducks. Maxime Comtois was the other scorer for the Californian team, who registered only a second victory in six games since returning from the holiday break.
After Zegras ‘goal in the second round of the shootout, Rickard Rakell drove the last nail into the Red Wings’ coffin by scoring in the top of the net. Rakell ended the meeting with two assists.
Tyler Bertuzzi hit the target once and amassed an assist for the Red Wings. The Michigan team have lost four of the five games they have played since Christmas.
Filip Hronek and Vladislav Namestnikov also rocked the strings for the Red Wings. Thomas Greiss repelled 24 shots in the loss.
The meeting was scheduled for Thursday, but was postponed due to COVID-19 cases among the Ducks.
