The artist was accompanied by the Handel-Hendrix Academy choir to perform this great classic, notably sung by Ediath Piaf.

This is one of the first highlights of this closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. Zaho de Sagazan performed Under the Parisian sky – a classic of French song performed by Edith Piaf in 1954 and Yves Montand in 1964 – accompanied by the Handel-Hendrix Academy choir on Sunday August 11.

Zaho de Sagazan is having a great year, having lit up the opening of the Cannes Film Festival with her revival of Modern Love by David Bowie and who won four trophies at the Victoires de la Musique with his Symphony of Lightningincluding those for album of the year and female revelation.

She performed the song in the Tuileries Gardens, where the Olympic cauldron remained for the fortnight. Several hundred thousand people came to see this 7 m diameter flame ring up close, topped with a 30 m high balloon.

After the performance of the young French singer, swimmer Léon Marchand, four-time Olympic champion at these Games, extinguished the cauldron and took the Olympic flame with him.
