Zachary L’Heureux suspended for 10 games by the QMJHL

Mooseheads forward Zachary L’Heureux has been suspended for 10 games by the Quebec Junior Hockey League, director of player safety Eric Chouinard announced in a statement Wednesday.

L’Heureux, who is 19, has so far been suspended indefinitely after a video posted on social media showed him trying to dart spectators with his stick.

The incident occurred after the February 8 game against the Gatineau Olympiques.

Chouinard said several factors went into his decision to sanction L’Heureux.

“As the new video footage obtained by the league demonstrates, Zachary L’Heureux’s post-game gesture simply cannot be tolerated by the QMJHL. Furthermore, since the player has been suspended several times, he is considered a repeat offender.

L’Heureux, a first-round pick, 27e overall, of the Nashville Predators in the 2021 NHL Draft, has scored 18 goals and 19 assists in 24 games this season with the Mooseheads.
