The MHR in force. Three months after the title of champion of France from Montpellier, the Héraultais Zach Mercer was elected best player of the season 2021-2022 of the Top 14, Monday September 26, during the 18th edition of Rugby Night.
The English third row, who will join Gloucester (England) in June 2023, in the hope of participating in the next World Cup in France (September 8 – October 28, 2023), had been one of the main architects of the first Shield of Brennus from the MHR. A trophy for which the Montpellier staff, made up of manager Philippe Saint-André and coaches Olivier Azam (forward), Jean-Baptiste Elissalde (defense), Alexandre Ruiz (discipline) and Bruce Reihana (skills), was logically elected “best staff” of the Top 14.

Crowned best player in the championship last year, the scrum-half of Toulouse and the France team, Antoine Dupont, retains his title of “best French international”. Among the Bleues, it is the Toulousaine Laure Sansus who succeeds Marjorie Mayans, for the title of best player of the XV of France.
Léo Coly (23), transferred from Mont-de-Marsan to Montpellier this summer, was voted best player in Pro D2 and revelation of the season. His former coaches at Stade Montois have won the title of “best staff in Pro D2”. Finally, the Rochelais Thomas Berjon won the title of the “best try” of the season, scored against Racing 92, during the 21st day.
