The “Z” of support for the Russian army, notably present on the tanks of the Russian army, was tagged several times on Tuesday April 6 at the entrance to the Russian Orthodox church in Strasbourg, reports France Bleu Alsace.
The Orthodox parish of the city announces that it has filed a complaint, after discovering these letters tagged with red paint. “We mourn what is happening and wish a quick return of peace to Ukrainian land”writes the parish in a statement posted on Facebook.
“We hope that the French authorities can ensure the safety of our community”adds the parish.
The day after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, on February 25, several swastikas were discovered on the Russian consulate in Strasbourg. There too, the swastikas had been drawn in red paint, on white display panels on the railings of the buildings.
