Yvon Louvain helps seniors on a daily basis to advise them on new technologies. As the presidential election approaches, he explains what he expects from the candidates.
Yvon Louvain is a 78 year old man living in Saint-Raphaël in the Var. He regularly goes to the media library to help the elderly better understand certain new technologies, such as teaching them how to scan the QR code of the vaccination pass or accessing their bill online. A former computer scientist, he helps seniors and points to something that “boils: it’s to see the lack of consideration of digital capabilities in the world of health”. “When we see the money that is invested in the amount of health, we say to ourselves that there is somewhere a problem in the use of this money”adds the retiree.
The 78-year-old describes himself as either centre-right or centre-left on the political spectrum. “It depends”, he explains. For a candidate to succeed in convincing him, he must demonstrate consistency in his programme. “Secondly, if he promises mountains and wonders, I wouldn’t believe it much because he won’t be able to do it anyway”, says Yvon Louvain. Finally, what he wants above all to know if someone proposes a solution or a development project, “it’s not what we want to do, it’s how we get there”.
“My voice counts” is a series of reports that give voice to citizens. The franceinfo channel 27 reporting teams crisscrossed the territories to meet the French people in order to question them about their concerns and expectations vis-à-vis politics and in particular presidential candidates.
