Yves-Marie Ropert was obese, he weighed 178 kilos. A click was enough to push Yves Marie towards sport and even to get into a ring. He loses weight, gets results, wins a title of French boxing champion. Today, he is training hard to retain his title.

In this interview, Yves-Marie tells us about all the energy he puts into his training. Because it’s not enough to enjoy a title of champion of France, you have to work hard to defend your title again this year 2022.

For the French championship, whose qualifications will take place in the Paris region, training is necessarily daily. In addition to an intense professional life, Yves-Marie begins with a morning run before work. Then, the evening begins in the ring at 7 p.m. Jumping rope for support is a classic cardio exercise. The sparing partner is his comrade from his club to put him in condition for a classic fight. In the ring, it is also a question of working on mobility either in attack or in defense.

Finally, hitting the bag remains essential in training. It’s about working on a very precise movement and repeating it thousands of times. 86kg at least is the threshold that allows Yves-Marie to estimate to stay in the heavyweight category.

Naturally, Yves-Marie greatly appreciates the state of mind of his boxing club in St Breiuc. He is not stingy with encouragement for his club mates as well.
